legal advice helpline
Our legal helpline is available through by our First Response Centre by calling 0800 037 1066 either from the roadside 24/7 if you need specific and immediate assistance or at any time if you need more general, less urgent advice. Your call will be assessed by a legal professional whatever time you call and we will endeavour to provide you advice in as timely a manner as possible.
The legal helpline can give you support and guidance at the scene, especially if you are unsure of what to do next. If you are unsure of any legal point or need assistance regarding your rights or responsibilities, you should contact them right away.
If you believe that the police may charge you with a motoring offence arising out of the accident our legal team will give you initial free guidance and help you find a solicitor to defend you, but to keep costs down for good drivers, the cost of defending a motoring offence is not covered by Lawcover's standard legal expenses insurance. You may be given the opportunity to add such cover at a later date.
The legal helpline and email advice service only aims to provide general guidance and support. Once full details of the accident have been reported you case will be handled and pursued only by a specialist motor accident solicitor who will act in your best interests at all times and give advice which is specific and applicable to your particular case.
